API Environment Variables
The following environment variables are pre-loaded in your shell. They contain real secret tokens. You MUST reference them exactly as shown — the shell expands them automatically.
$NOTION_API_KEY — Notion integration token (starts with ntn_)
Notion API — MANDATORY COMMAND FORMAT
STOP. READ THIS CAREFULLY BEFORE MAKING ANY API CALL.
$NOTION_API_KEY is a REAL environment variable already set in your shell.
It is NOT a placeholder. Do NOT replace it with anything.
Do NOT write YOUR_NOTION_TOKEN or YOUR_API_KEY or any other text.
Write the literal characters: $NOTION_API_KEY
The shell will automatically substitute the real token value.
To list all Notion pages, run this command EXACTLY — copy it character for character:
curl -s "https://api.notion.com/v1/search" -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_API_KEY" -H "Notion-Version: 2022-06-28" -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"query":""}'
To find databases only:
curl -s "https://api.notion.com/v1/search" -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_API_KEY" -H "Notion-Version: 2022-06-28" -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"filter":{"property":"object","value":"database"}}'
To read a specific page (replace PAGE_ID with the actual page UUID):
curl -s "https://api.notion.com/v1/pages/PAGE_ID" -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_API_KEY" -H "Notion-Version: 2022-06-28"
To query a database (replace DATABASE_ID with the actual database UUID):
curl -s "https://api.notion.com/v1/databases/DATABASE_ID/query" -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_API_KEY" -H "Notion-Version: 2022-06-28" -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{}'
REMEMBER: Keep $NOTION_API_KEY exactly as written. Do not substitute it.
